Education
Personal background
Growing up between very different cultures, I learned early on to see the small differences and patterns in people’s behavior and world views. This experience as well as many travels and stays in various countries taught me invaluable lessons about identity, fitting-in, differences and similarities, (mis)understandings, communication, and boundaries, which I use in my practice.
Besides the human mind my other passions are larp (live action roleplay), books, and travel. I find it fascinating to dive into other realities and perspectives. Why live only one life, if there are a thousand more to experience?
My partner and I have polyamorous relationships, including the pleasures and challenges they brings along. This experience as well as theoretical knowledge guide my work with clients who are interested or are already living polyamory.
Professional background
My professional education mainly focused on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), complemented by practical experience in psychoanalytic and systemic therapy techniques. Currently I am undergoing further training in Systemic Therapy in Berlin (Germany).
Corresponding to my multifaceted education my practical approach to counseling and therapy is similarly diverse. Currently my main methodological focus lies on Systemic Therapy, however I use cognitive, behavioral and other methods when they are relevant, depending on what my client will benefit from most.
